To meet a large growing need for rescue services in Connecticut. To develop Educational and Equine Assisted Learning programs, which partners rehabilitated equines with children and their families, elderly, first responders and Military Veterans current and former members.
Operation Hold Your Horses, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing horses from at-risk situations, rehabilitating them, and helping them find loving homes, our mission is to provide a safe haven for horses and create meaningful connections between people and animals.
We also support veterans and their families through horsemanship experiences, offering therapeutic opportunities in a serene, natural setting.
Jennifer Smith, local Retired Military Veteran. Jenn started this organization with teaching others horsemanship as one of the main focuses. Her love for horses and teaching children over the last 30 years has led her to this venture. Our lessons make a huge difference in the lives of equine at risk right in our own community and all over the country. It doesn’t get much more gratifying than knowing you are helping to care for our rescue horses, and all while supporting the community through Equine Assisted Learning Programs.
Assisting those in need of rehoming and providing retraining or sanctuary to at risk equine.
Beginner to Advanced Western, English Hunt Seat or beginner jumping, any ages, our instructors are well trained.
